From 6pm on Sunday August 2, Victoria will move from a State of Emergency to a State of Disaster. Stage 4 restrictions will apply to all people within the Melbourne metropolitan area, and regional Victoria will move to the Stage 3 restrictions. Mitchell Shire will also remain at Stage 3. A range of new rules will apply to those under Stage 4 restrictions, including: |
1 | A curfew will apply from 8pm to 5am, and the only reason to leave the house during curfew hours is to work, or to receive or provide medical care or caregiving. |
2 | Exercise outside the home is limited to a maximum of one hour per day, with only one other person allowed to exercise with you (whether you live with that person or not). Exercise must be within a 5km radius of your house. |
3 | One person per household may go shopping per day, also restricted to within 5km of your house. |
4 | All schools — regional and metropolitan — will return to remote learning from Wednesday August 5, after a newly announced pupil free day on Tuesday. The only exceptions will be for vulnerable students and children of workers in permitted essential services. |
6 | Remoted learning rules will also apply to kinder and early childhood services from Thursday August 6. |
7 | No weddings will be permitted in the Melbourne metropolitan area from 11.59pm, Wednesday August 5. |
These restrictions will apply until Sunday 13 September.
