How we calculate the possible seats
Israel's 120 Knesset seats are allocated nationally, in proportion to each party's votes. This chart applies the official method to the votes counted so far, as if they were the final result.
- Parties with less than 3.25% of valid votes win no seats, and their votes are set aside. If a party's votes go above 3.25% they get allocated around four seats, which is why some parties may have large seat movements.
- Before the election, some parties sign agreements in pairs. When seats are first allocated, each pair is treated as a single list with their votes combined, as long as both partners clear the threshold.
- Seats are handed out one at a time, using a formula Israel calls Bader-Ofer (known elsewhere as D'Hondt).
About the blocs. The Netanyahu and Eisenkot groupings are our assessment of which parties are likely to back each leader to form a government. They don't affect how seats are calculated.
