Coercion against athletes participating in the Enhanced Games is possible only within certain limits. To sanction an athlete, they must have committed one of the eleven anti-doping rule violations, unless a so-called “out-of-competition” test is conducted that is, outside of competitions organised by entities that are signatories to the World Anti-Doping Code. This remains possible, but it will be necessary to identify the legal basis on which the athlete can be sanctioned. Communicating about a future sanction without specifying the violation seems risky.
